This short website serves as an introduction to the cluster of six websites by the same name, websites that are dedicated to different aspects of Mesopotamian culture. It describes what is common to all of them, from both a methodological and an operational point of view.

The sites are bibliographical in nature, and share several distinctive traits. Not only are the titles extensively annotated; there are also several interpretive layers that develop, in a variety of different ways, common themes which are discussed in the cited literature.

There is also a methodological aim in the way in which the interaction among different digital planes is managed (i.e., “interplanarity”), in line with a theory that proposes digital discourse as the key dimension of scholarly websites.

This website discusses the elements that all websites in the cluster have in common, with regard to:

  1. the bibliographical goals,
  2. the digital approach,
  3. the references cited,
  4. the format,
  5. the implementation.
